Established in 2011, the SME Finance Monitor is the definitive source of insight on SME attitudes towards, need for and experience of finance in the UK
Having tracked how SMEs fared after the last recession, we have monitored them through Covid-19, Brexit and the more recent economic challenges, with regular updates on access to finance, growth plans, ambitions and current performance. 2023 also included a specific focus on which SMEs have taken, and are still repaying, Government backed pandemic funding and what that means for them.
The single most authoritative source, used and quoted by government, banks and industry bodies
A large data set that can be analysed by size, sector, region and a wide range of other variables
Track changes in SME sentiment over time as the economic climate changes
Data made freely available to all interested parties.
All outputs are available for immediate download, including historic trends. From time-to-time, we also publish special reports on specific sub-groups of interest.
