The context

A lender wanted to enhance its home loan portfolio with a new proposition designed to defend and grow market share. How could it maximise chances of success and attract new borrowers?

What we did

A multi-disciplinary study bringing together quantitative research, data science and behavioural science, working in partnership with BVA Nudge Consulting.

Data from a large-scale survey robustly forecasted take-up, while a market simulator tested different scenarios including potential competitor responses. This was followed by behavioural science consulting to identify optimal product positioning.

How it helped

The client learnt what adjustments were needed to both the product features and positioning to maximise appeal, with guidance on how to overcome cognitive biases that might impact take-up.
